Inside Ram Mandir: Exploring the Sacred Ramlala Idol
The Ramlala murti, also known as the Ramlala Vigraha, is a sacred idol enshrined within the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, India. This divine murti represents the infant form of Lord Rama, a central figure in Hindu mythology and revered as an Avatar of the god Vishnu.
The construction of the Ramlala murti involved the expertise of skilled artisans and craftsmen, who meticulously carved the idol from a single block of sacred stone. The specific type of stone used for the Ramlala murti varies, but it is often carved from materials such as white marble, sandstone, or granite, chosen for their durability and aesthetic appeal.

Trusties and Members :
Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, established by the Indian government in February 2020, is entrusted with the construction and management of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. This initiative stemmed from a Supreme Court verdict, which mandated the formation of a trust within three months to oversee the temple’s construction. Comprising 15 trustees, the trust was allocated the disputed 2.77-acre land along with an additional 67.703 acres obtained under the Acquisition of Certain Area at Ayodhya Act, 1993.
The central government handpicked 12 members of the trust, while the remaining three were nominated later. Kesava Parasaran, the former Attorney General who represented Shri Ram Lalla Virajmaan in the Ayodhya case, was appointed as the interim chairman. Subsequently, Mahant Nrityagopal Das was elected as the permanent chairman by the trust on February 19, 2020. This trust plays a pivotal role in realizing the long-standing aspirations of millions of devotees by overseeing the sacred construction project in Ayodhya.
